A lot of heart in Seoul
Welcome to Heartist House – 하티스트 하우스: the warm home of the Samsung C&T Fashion Group’s social responsibility platform.
HEARTIST is the only fashion CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) store in South Korea. They provide sustainable and eco-friendly goods in a space they share with what they describe as ‘warm-hearted artists’. HEARTIST donates all its profits to the beneficiaries of their Heart Campaign to ‘support the dreams of their neighbours’.
Throughout December, HEARTIST hosted a wonderful Little Sun exhibition and pop-up store. They did such an amazing job of bringing everything that Little Sun stands for to life: happiness, light, art, sharing and bringing smiles to many people’s faces.
On Dec 19th, HEARTIST’s Little Sun exhibition was even broadcast on the Samsung C&T Group TV!
The following day, December 20, HEARTIST invited children to participate in a workshop about sustainable living and design.
The workshop involved the kids interacting and playing with their Little Sun lamps as well as learning about the Little Sun story and the artwork of Olafur.
The lovely team at HEARTIST reported back that all of kids loved to have a Little Sun – it helped them to understand the situation of people living off-grid and why it is so important that they have access to solar light and energy.
The children also had fun exploring the exhibition with ‘mini blackouts’. ‘Blackouts’ is an ongoing Little Sun concept where visitors to an art exhibition are given the opportunity to explore it just with the light of their Little Sun lamp. HEARTIST also created a beautiful Christmas card exhibition with the children to celebrate the season of light and giving.
