John Heller
John Heller is the Chief Executive Officer of Little Sun. Prior to joining Little Sun, he served as Managing Director of the Synergos Institute, a non-profit organization that generates collaborative solutions to poverty worldwide. John founded and led a social-purpose consultancy within Synergos that enabled corporations, foundations, and philanthropists to advance social impact. Clients included Walmart, PepsiCo, eBay, Shell, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Unilever, DuPont-Pioneer, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Conservation International, and the UN Global Compact, among others. He also mobilized large-scale collaborations that reduced maternal mortality in Namibia, advanced agricultural transformation in Nigeria, and enhanced aboriginal peoples’ quality of life in Western Canada.
Previously, John worked with the Council on International Educational Exchange, the Open Society Institute, and the Population and Community Development Association. He served for two years as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Thailand working on village-level income generation, nutrition, and sanitation projects. He speaks Thai and Spanish and holds a BA in Sociology from Haverford College and an MA in International Affairs from Columbia University. He won the Haverford College Award for Service to Humanity in 2014.
