From October 10 to 12, 2016 at SXSW Eco, (the sister event to the legendary music festival), we presented our global mission: to bring solar energy to the 1.1 billion people on our planet living without access to electricity.
SXSW Eco provided the perfect platform for celebrating such a mission. The event welcomed innovators from all over the world to Austin, Texas, to showcase how they are driving economic, environmental and social change through technology, design and creativity.
We spent a very busy few days at the event, being showcased in four separate but interconnected ways: pitching at the Start-Up Showcase in the social impact category; leading a session on Creating Inclusive Business through the Power of Art; hosting a lunch club on the power of creativity in driving real change; and running an interactive art piece called Sunlight Graffiti where visitors could create their own work of light art using the power of solar.
At this year’s SXSW Eco, Little Sun offered a chance for visitors to directly engage – through presentations and conversations and through art. Little Sun’s Sunlight Graffiti, a unique interactive art experience, served as a call to action and created an emotional connection with sustainable energy, giving people a way to engage their bodies with the inspiration to make a real change in our world.
