Join the Little Sun Community
Do you want to build a renewable future, spread sustainability and inspire others to do the same? Then join us.
Little Sun works with companies, individuals, festivals, non-profits, and other organizations to shed light on the global issue of energy access. By becoming a part of the solar revolution you are helping us spread solar light and energy around the world!
Collaborations
Together with your community, employees, or clients, we can create a long term project and build a mutual sustainability campaign. Working hand in hand we can curate an experience or design a product that aligns with your focus. Let’s join forces to brainstorm unique ways to advocate for a better future for all!
Copenhagen Fashion Week
Little Sun was part of the exhibition ENLIGHTMENT at the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair Spring-Summer 2019, Little Sun from 8 to 10 August. The exhibition included works of art by Virgil Abloh, Naomi Campbell, Peter Saville, and Nick Knight and were inspired by the power, influence, and beauty of light to raise awareness for Little Sun’s mission of spreading solar energy around the globe.
VELUX
RIMOWA
In 2018, RIMOWA and Olafur Eliasson were working together to create a special collection of 46 nature-inspired luggage stickers, seizing shared ideas of sustainability, longevity, and concern for the environment. All proceeds are going to the Little Sun Foundation to help realise its mission: delivering solar energy to the most vulnerable communities worldwide.
Berlinale
In February 2017, Little Sun collaborated with Berlin’s famous film festival Berlinale to shine a spotlight on solar and to glimpse a life lived without access to electricity. Little Sun special edition Berlinale lamps could be purchased in the festival’s gift shop. For every Little Sun sold, Berlinale and Little Sun brought a Little Sun lamp to a child living without access to electricity in Ethiopia.
IKEA
Little Sun has launched a sustainable living collaboration with IKEA to raise awareness for energy access for all. Together, IKEA and Little Sun want to create a series of sustainable off-grid tools for everyday life. Both beautiful and functional, they will be the perfect introduction to renewable energy and strengthen an independent, conscientious lifestyle.
Louis Vuitton
Coinciding with Olafur Eliasson’s ‘Contact’ exhibition in Paris 2014, 1000 special limited edition Little Sun solar lamps were sold at the Foundation Louis Vuitton to celebrate the sharing of light.
Mifuko
From July to August 2018, Little Sun joined forces with Finnish designers Minna and Mari from Mifuko. During the #SustainableSummer campaign, every Little Sun Original sold in our web shop and every 20 euros spent in Mifuko’s online shop brought one solar-powered Little Sun Original to women of the Mifuko self-help group in Kenya. All in all, the campaign brought 600 lamps to Kenya.
Klean Kanteen
We like working with companies and organizations that share similar values. Thus, we teamed up with Klean Kanteen – like Little Sun, a B Corp certified company – for the exclusive and limited-edition Klean Kanteen stainless-steel water bottle with Little Sun design. Every bottle bought made solar energy accessible to those who need it.
Events
Add some sparkle to your event & shine a light on solar energy.
Little Sun has been part of many different events already, from conferences to celebrations, festivals and more! We would love to be a part of your memorable happening and shine a light on sustainable energy access.
Pathway to Paris
A Solar Powered Sunrise – A collective experience of sustainable solar light in action. A striking visual experience that adds a little sparkle to every conference, dinner or award ceremony.
Sónar Festival
Sunlight Graffiti – The interactive installation allows visitors to create their own picture with the power of the sun. Sunlight Graffiti is a microcosmos of the Little Sun project, where one can feel, in a creative, playful and mindful way, the impact one can have on their immediate physical surrounding just by putting solar light into action. With long-exposure photography, the moment is captured forever. The perfect souvenir from your event!
Roppongi Art Night
Little Sun Garden – A beautiful light installation, encouraging thinking about solar power, the global energy challenge and the importance of light in people’s lives.
Governors Island Solar Nightwalk
Solar Nightwalk – A Solar Nightwalk as a great activity to bring together people from all ages for an engaging, fun, and educational “off the grid” experience! Using Little Sun Solar Lamps to light the way, the participants will be invited to experience a guided walk at sunset, and in the process, create a work of art together.
Lollapalooza Festival
Charging Station – Charge your phone, charge your life! The solar-powered charging station gives your guests the chance to relax for a moment and charge their batteries.
Little Sun Lighting
Little Sun Lighting – Lighten up your company event, birthday party, gala dinner or festival with decorative, sustainable solar light! You can integrate the Little Suns in your already existing decoration or use them to actually light up the outside areas of your event. They also look nice replacing candles on the dinner table!
Louisiana Museum Blackout
Little Sun Blackout – How does it feel to be in darkness? Turn off the power at your event for one hour and let your guests experience their environment only in the light of the Little Sun solar lamp.
The Gift of Light
Little Sun can be a meaningful gift to mark any special occasion. Whether for your employees or partners, holiday party or anniversary, giving the gift of Little Sun helps deliver energy to an off-grid community. Larger orders can be customized upon request. Community Health Workers in Zanzibar
Using a mobile health app, over 400 Community Health Volunteers can help pregnant women better plan for facility deliveries as well as pre and post-delivery care. As many of the Volunteers lack electricity in their homes, Little Sun has equipped over half of them with portable solar-powered phone chargers. The chargers provide the reliable energy needed to power their most important tool: the smartphone. Find out more!
Entrepreneurship in Senegal and Burkina Faso
Entrepreneur trainings, by our teams in Senegal and Burkina Faso, are the perfect opportunity for the future sales agents to spread the word about access to sustainable energy, improve the livelihoods in rural areas, whilst making an extra income. By selling Little Suns in remote areas, these entrepreneurs become solar ambassadors and make a remarkable impact on the local economy. Since 2014, our entrepreneurship network – mostly women – has helped us sell more than 40,000 solar products. Learn more about Senegal! Learn more about Burkina Faso!
